Aβ - Kinetics of Oligomerization

We determine the kinetics of oligomerization starting with pure monomer obtained by an isomerization reaction of the non-aggregating O-acyl iso-Aβ molecule Aβ^ISO which converts to the Aβ peptide within minutes after dissolution at neutral pH. We follow the appearance of dimers and small oligomers as function of time.

• Figure 5. Isomerization reaction of Aβ^ISO converting into Aβ. The connection between Aβ(1-25) and Aβ(26-42) occurs via a Ser²⁶ side chain ester linkage in Aβ^ISO and via a regular Val²⁵-Ser²⁶ peptide linkage in Aβ.
