Biography

Selena grew up in Indiana surrounded by cornfields. She completed her undergraduate degree at Purdue University, where she worked under Dr. Suzanne Bart with John (JKat) Kiernicki. Selena focused on redox chemistry with uranium, advancing Dr. Bart’s dream of total f-block domination. Selena loves living in California and looks forward to the years ahead with no snow!

Research Area

Selena's research involves the synthesis of thorium polyhydride complexes to investigate actinide-ligand bonding and 5f orbital interactions.
