Biography

Sierra Sun is a rising high school junior at the Waterford School in Sandy, Utah. She is thrilled to be spending summer 2023 in the Trevor Hayton lab working with her mentor, Phoebe Hertler, to synthesize iron clusters (even though she accidentally knocks over lots of stuff in the glovebox). In her free time, Sierra loves volleyball, music, and backpacking!

Research Area

Sierra is working on the bottom-up synthesis of ketimide-supported iron and cobalt nanoclusters.
