Biography

Kaushalya was born and raised in Sri Lanka. Making her dream to pursue higher education in USA come true, she began an MSc at Sam Houston State University in 2019. There, she developed various iron oxo complexes for small molecule activation. Continuing her passion for inorganic synthesis and organometallics, she joined the Hayton research group for her PhD in 2023. Outside the lab she enjoys walking along the beach, hiking, and traveling to places she has never been before.

Research Area

Kaushalya is working on the synthesis of actinide complexes with metal-ligand multiple bonds.
