Jennifer Gidden

My research at UCSB focused on determining gas-phase conformational and energetic properties of synthetic and biological polymers using ion mobility methods and molecular modeling. I investigated the conformational preferences of oligonucleotides and the energies involved with those preferences (i.e. isomerization barriers, relative energies..) I was also involved in the characterization of POSS and their inclusion into synthetic polymer systems.
